This was an easy one for me, having lived in Pasadena and the surrounding area for fifteen years.
This city has a special place in my heart - both our children were born here, I built lifelong friendships with some incredible women during my time here, and we were all heartbroken when we had to leave the 'city of roses'.
I knew Chrissy and Scott would have chosen to live in a craftsman house, so iconic for the area, and I pictured their home on a quiet street with views of both the Rose Bowl Stadium and the San Gabriel Mountains.
One of my favorite memories from our time in Pasadena was the 4th July fireworks at the Rose Bowl Stadium, so I was sure to include this celebration in my book Rachel's Butterflies, the first book in the Rachel's Butterflies trilogy.
I also wanted to pay homage to the magnificent architecture of the Pasadena City Hall, so this building features prominently in the first two books of the trilogy.
